Integrative Health Assessment

An Individualised Approach

Integrative health consultations take a more detailed and considered approach to health and wellbeing, recognising that each person’s experience, circumstances, and goals are unique. Unlike shorter, problem-focused consultations that may centre primarily on a single symptom or acute concern, integrative consultations aim to explore the broader factors that may be influencing overall wellbeing, balance, and long-term health over time.

Consultations allow time to explore previous treatments, current concerns, contributing factors, lifestyle considerations, emotional wellbeing, sleep, stress, movement, nutrition, nervous system regulation, and individual goals, with a focus on informed decision-making, patient safety, and ongoing support where clinically indicated. This broader assessment process recognises that health is often shaped by many interconnected biological, psychological, social, and lifestyle factors, and that imbalance within one area may sometimes influence overall wellbeing, function, and quality of life more broadly.

Depending on individual circumstances, additional assessment, investigations, monitoring, or referral may sometimes be recommended to help support safe and informed clinical decision-making.

Pre-consultation Information

Prior to your initial consultation, you will be required to complete a short health questionnaire. This gathers important information about your health history, medications, previous treatments, and overall wellbeing.

Where appropriate, a health summary, referral, or relevant correspondence from your General Practitioner or treating healthcare provider may also be requested to support safe, informed, and coordinated care. With your consent, this information can often be requested on your behalf as part of the pre-consultation process.

This process helps ensure care remains safe, individualised, and appropriate to your health needs and circumstances.

Initial Consultation - Allow up to 60 minutes

Initial consultations at Holistiq Health are conducted face-to-face, are up to 60 minutes in duration, and may be eligible for Medicare rebates where appropriate.

A longer consultation allows time for careful assessment, discussion, and education, ensuring your concerns and goals are explored in a thoughtful and individualised way.

During your consultation, we may:

• Review your health history and previous treatments
• Conduct an assessment, including physical examination where appropriate
• Consider further investigations, such as pathology or imaging, if required
• Discuss management options and supportive treatment approaches
• Prescribe medications where clinically appropriate and safe to do so
• Provide education to support informed decision-making and confidence with your care plan

Please note: In some situations, additional information, correspondence, or a health summary from your General Practitioner or treating specialist may be requested to support safe, informed, and appropriate care planning.

Check-In Phone Consultation – 2 Weeks

A brief follow-up phone consultation is typically scheduled approximately two weeks after your initial consultation. This appointment is intended to support your progress, review early responses to treatment recommendations, and address any questions that may arise.

Where eligible, this consultation may be bulk-billed.

Review Telehealth Consultation – 4 Weeks

Follow-up consultations are generally scheduled approximately 4–5 weeks after your initial appointment and are commonly conducted via telehealth where appropriate.

These reviews support ongoing monitoring, treatment safety, and individualised care planning, and may also be required to meet current Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) prescribing and follow-up expectations.

During follow-up consultations, we may:

• Review progress and symptom changes

• Discuss your treatment plan and make adjustments where appropriate

• Monitor safety, tolerability, and treatment response

• Arrange further follow-up when new treatments or medication changes are introduced

Please note: Significant changes to a treatment plan may require an additional review within a shorter timeframe.

Review Consultations – Every 3 Months

Once stability has been achieved, ongoing maintenance review consultations are typically scheduled every three months and are commonly conducted via video telehealth where clinically appropriate or in person if preferred.

These consultations provide an opportunity to review progress, reassess goals, monitor ongoing safety and effectiveness, and make treatment adjustments if required.

Longer review intervals may occasionally be considered depending on individual circumstances, stability, and clinical appropriateness.

Major Review Consultations – Every 6–12 Months

Periodic comprehensive reviews may be recommended to reassess your broader health progress, treatment goals, medications, and longer-term care planning.

These consultations may involve a more detailed reassessment and, where appropriate, may be conducted face-to-face to support ongoing safe and coordinated care.

Telehealth Consultations

For convenience and accessibility, telehealth consultations may be available where clinically appropriate and in accordance with current Medicare and regulatory requirements.

Where Medicare rebates are to be claimed, patients are generally required to have attended a face-to-face consultation with their treating practitioner, or another clinician within the clinic, within the previous 12 months. Where these requirements are not met, consultations may still proceed on a private fee basis where appropriate.

Telehealth consultations are conducted in accordance with Australian professional and regulatory standards, including those set by AHPRA and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), with a focus on safe, appropriate, and individualised care.
